About Us

Dan started the family pumpkin patch years ago.  In 2008 we added the corn maze and larger amounts of farm produce.  We continue to grow a little each year; adding our first high tunnel in 2010, the second in 2011 and will complete our third high tunnel in this spring.  We continue to grow tomatoes, peppers, onions, cabbage, cucumbers and of course pumpkins and sweet corn as our main produce crops.

We are located 2 miles west of Lingle, Wyoming, or 8 miles east of Ft. Laramie, on Highway 26.  Once you get across the railroad tracks to the south you can’t go anywhere else but to the farm for some good, old-fashioned family fun on the farm in the fresh air of Wyoming.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins, Spider Webs, Food, And More

In addition to the pick-your-own-pumpkin patch, a big part of our family-fun-on-the-farm atmosphere centers on the yard.  The main attraction in the yard is the corn boxes; old truck boxes filled with shelled corn, kind of like a sandbox with corn instead of sand.  When kids aren’t playing in the corn boxes they can climb on the spider web, shoot the corn cannon or the tomato launcher, ride the pedal tractors, run on the hay maze or just be outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

The yard provides the background for those “Kodak” moments we all love.  We have a special display area just for pictures, Hairy the Spider to pose with, and of course kittens and the dogs.  Family pictures were taken at the farm in October to become Christmas cards in December!

After visiting the family pumpkin patch and exploring the corn maze, we provide the fire pit for roasting hotdogs and making S’mores. Ellis’ Harvest Home is the perfect setting for fall birthday parties, church youth groups and 4-H groups to get together for some group fun.

After the fresh air and fun have made you hungry and thirsty you can re-fuel at the concession stand with apple nachos, popcorn, Papa’s candy; hot cocoa or cider.  We also have hamburgers, hot dogs, chili, and quesadillas.
