Hi & Welcome!
Hathaway Farm & Corn Maze
We are OPENING FOR THE SEASON on Saturday, August 1st, 2020!! YAY!! What a crazy year we are in, huh? We have several changes this year due to the Covid-19 situation so please be sure to read all this information to know what to expect this year on the farm & what we expect from all our visitors. Our mission is to have you Lost…Laughin’…& LOVIN’ IT in our Corn Mazes as well as provide a safe environment for you to enjoy the farm.
Our Covid-19 Guidance as recommended by the Vermont Department of Health & the CDC is as follows:
Wear a FACIAL COVERING if you are 4 years old or older. Farm Entry is not permitted without one. It needs to be worn when you are on all common areas of the farm, but when you enter the maze, if there is no one near you, you may decide to take it off. It needs to be handy to be able to put back on when you meet someone along the path. All staff on the farm will be wearing them.
Keep AT LEAST SIX FEET from others outside your group at all times. The maze paths, in general, are a bit wider than usual this year in a lot of areas, but just be aware of other people in your area & stay distanced. Farm staff will practice this also.
Please use our new HAND WASHING STATIONS & SANITIZER provided for you. You of course are welcome & encouraged to bring your own sanitizer to have with you too. We will be wiping down our Play Area activities & our Punches in the big maze on a regular basis throughout the day. Farm staff is encouraged to wash their hands frequently & sanitize.
Please stay home if you are NOT FEELING WELL.
MINIMIZE CONTACT with surfaces that you touch. We will still have our Clues & Punches to find in the Big Maze, but we also offer a totally TOUCHLESS OPTION where you can use your Smart Phone to access Trivia Clues, track Checkpoints & even use GPS mapping for the Maze. Use your best judgment as to what to touch & please use sanitizer or hand wash stations as needed.
Follow all DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE to minimize gathering in spaces. This mainly pertains to being in lines upon arrival & in line for the Snack Shack when that opens in September. We will not have our Livestock Barn open this year (although you will be able to see many of our animals outside in their pens) & our Play Area will be limited to activities we feel can be sanitized or are touchless (for example: walk on puzzles). We ask that you be mindful of others & keep spread out when enjoying these activities as well as when you are in the maze (of course there aren’t directional signs in the maze……kinda defeats the purpose!)
By following these simple Guidelines everyone’s Farm Adventure will be as SAFE as it is FUN!! We only want you to bring home HAPPY MEMORIES from your time at the Farm!!
Things that will be different this year:
*Our Barn is closed this year including the Farm Shop & Livestock Barn. Most of our animals will be able to be seen in their pens at the front of the barn, but you will not be allowed to pet them.
*Admission tickets can be purchased at the window next to the door of the Farm Shop when you arrive (with the window acting as a clear guard for added safety) or you may choose to PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS HERE on our website. This is a great option to avoid standing in line upon arrival.
*Our Play Area will have fewer offerings including no Corn Pit. Only activities that can be sanitized well will be offered & we do have some additional walk-on puzzles for younger children also.
*There will be no wagon rides offered this year.
*Our Snack Shack will open in September as usual, but it will not be open to go inside. The front door of the tent will be where you will place your order & pay & then the back door of the tent is where you will pick up your order. There will be a clear guard on both front & back doors for added safety.
*In the Big Maze, there are no chairs put out in the grassy knoll area or big tractor tires anywhere to be found. In the Mini Maze, we do not have the Finger Game available for obvious reasons.
Things that will be the same this year:
*We have our HUGE 13-acre maze “It’s 5:00 Somewhere…..Songs That Make Ya Feel Good”. Our speakers are up throughout the maze & we will have you swaying to the Feel Good music! We have punches to find with the drawing you can enter if you find them all, the old-style clues are in the maze too. The Smart Phone Games are available with Trivia Clues, Checkpoints & GPS mapping. The corn did really well this year so the maze is in good shape. We could use some rain though!
*The Mini Maze for the young folk & a bit less ambitious mazers, is ready to go with wider paths & a fabulous Story Walk…..The Wonky Donkey!! One of my grandson’s favorites! The little garden bridge is out there somewhere too!
*In our Play Area, we’ll have the redneck swings, the pedal tractors, horseshoes, photo board, bouncy cows, limited sandbox toys, steer roping & walk on puzzles.
*You will STILL have a fabulous time being outdoors with family enjoying a safe, fun, adventurous activity!!
