McGee Farm is a real working farm where thousands of residents from the Shoals and surrounding areas have been able to come a little closer to the farm life. The family operation that exists today know as the McGee Farm began in 1978 with Lenis McGee and his mother, Annie Ruth McGee’s venture of planting strawberries for pick-your-own. Although the strawberry patches are a thing of the past, the farm has evolved over the last four decades to become a tradition for families and a delight of garden-lovers and decorators. The present day operation of McGee Farm consists of dual season windows. Our spring season “May Baskets for Mom” with our specialty sales of hanging baskets and container gardens runs from mid-April into May. Not to be forgotten, however is the fall season in October for our chrysanthemums and the ever-popular “Real Pumpkin Patch” sporting our wagon ride to the patch, jumping pillow and farm Kitchen.

Admission is FREE to enjoy the country!  Sit under our big oak and listen to the country sounds. Shop for pumpkins and mums at the big barn and enjoy a meal or snack from the kitchen.

Make it an enjoyable family outing. For a minimal admission ride the wagon to the “Real Pumpkin Patch”, sit in the big hay pile, visit the chickens and more. Be sure to bring your kids and your camera! 

The tractor drawn wagon ride to the real pumpkin patch is a 20-30 minute trip to the “real pumpkin patch” where  you can see and pick small and large pumpkins right off its very own vine. Wagon rides and pumpkin picking are enjoyed by both the young and old!
